This thrilling journey unfolded in four dynamic cities – Limassol, Paphos, Larnaca, and Nicosia – and brought together athletes, fans, and communities. The 2023 Series began with OPAP Limassol 3×3 on June 9th, igniting a fiery passion for basketball in this sports-loving city. For five days, the courts in Limassol transformed into a battleground for basketball enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. The Cyprus Basketball Federation, in collaboration with 3on3 Cyprus LTD, successfully co-hosted the FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup Qualifier for the second consecutive year. Last year, the Women’s National Team achieved great success in the tournament, and this year, it was the Men’s National Team’s turn to shine. Cyprus pulled off another impressive upset, securing their spot in the European competition. Simon Michael was named the MVP of the event for his outstanding performance.
The OPAP Paphos 3×3 tournament held from July 7th to July 9th at the Paphos Municipality Square in Cyprus was a spectacular showcase of basketball talent. The event featured various categories, including U12 Mixed, U14 Girls, U14 Boys, U16 Boys, and OPAP Open Men, each delivering thrilling matches. One of the standout moments was the special Community Game, @louispatsalides and his team geared up to face off against the team of the Mayor of Paphos, @phedonphedonos in support of the Enavsma Foundation. 🏀💥
Larnaca’s Europe’s Square was a hub of basketball excitement from August 4th to 6th as the highly anticipated OPAP Larnaca 3×3 tournament took center stage. With more than 200 participants showcasing their skills and passion for the sport, the event turned out to be a resounding success that united athletes, fans, and the community in a celebration of 3×3 basketball. ❤️🔥
Kyrenias Avanue, Aglantzia witnessed an electrifying display of the basketball atmosphere as the awaited OPAP Nicosia 3×3 tournament concluded the 2023 Series. One of the standout moments featured the exciting Community Game, with Aglantzia Mayor & Friends facing off against Cyprus Youth Board President & Friends. In this friendly game, the sense of togetherness and community spirit was evident, as players from various backgrounds and roles came together to enjoy their shared love for basketball. 🏀💫
