OPAP Protaras 3×3 2025
What a weekend it was in Protaras! The OPAP Protaras 3×3 tournament took over Lefkola Square on May 17th and 18th, and it was a huge success, thanks to our collaboration with the Paralimni Municipality.
We had four different categories of play, showing off talent from various age groups. It was great to see the young players in the Primetel U12 and Scaffolding Solutions U14 Boys categories giving it their all. The competition really heated up in the adult categories, with the OPAP Open Men and OPAP Open Women categories. A big shout-out goes to both Cyprus National Teams, who not only participated but also won their respective categories! Their presence definitely added an exciting level of play.
Beyond the intense games, a really special part of the weekend was our morning activation: ‘Introduction of 3×3 basketball to children with autism’. This was organized in collaboration with Paralimni Municipality and Autism Support Famagusta, with great support from OPAP and the National Betting Authority. This was the second time we’ve held this event, and it was great to see the children engaging with the sport. We want to thank everyone involved, especially the local players who joined us and made it such a memorable experience.
And of course, we continued our tradition of hosting a community game on the final day. This year, Team Paralimni – Deryneia Council played against Team Trisokkas & Friends in a fun game that also helped support Autism Support Famagusta. It’s always great to see the community come together for a good cause!
Thanks to everyone who came out, played, and supported the OPAP Protaras 3×3. We look forward to seeing you in Pafos (June 14-15)!
