Strategic collaboration with the National Betting Authority
NBA and Cyprus 3×3 join forces to promote sports and prevent problematic behaviors

Cyprus 3×3 announces the start of collaboration with The National Betting Authority, supporting this year’s events across Cyprus, as part of the commitment to promoting Safe Gambling and raising public awareness regarding the prevention of pathological gambling. The agreement between the two organizations was signed on Thursday, February 27, 2025, with the National Betting Authority ensuring the role of institutional supporter of this year’s OPAP Cyprus 3×3 Series 2025 events.

The support of the NBA in the organization of the OPAP Cyprus 3×3 Series 2025 aims to highlight sport as an important and effective tool for preventing problematic behaviors while promoting the values of cooperation and fair play. Through targeted information actions that the NBA will carry out within the framework of the event, the public will have the opportunity to be informed about Safer Gambling as well as the available self-protection tools.

This year’s Cyprus 3×3 event is expected to attract hundreds of participants and spectators, offering a dynamic sporting event that promotes team spirit and entertainment through sport. The OPAP Cyprus 3×3 Series 2025 will be held in Limassol, Nicosia, Paphos, Larnaca, Protaras, and the mountain village of Omodos. In the context of the events, the NBA will also organize awareness-raising actions for Safer Gambling, as well as for the promotion of sports as a means of preventing problematic behaviors.

In his statements, the President of the National Betting Authority, Mr. Panagiotis Trisokkas, highlighted: “Our cooperation with the Cyprus 3×3 organization constitutes another step towards the implementation of the Safer Gambling Strategy, which constitutes the basis for the development of actions to prevent harmful consequences from betting and gambling. Sports and the values it represents are the most powerful ally in the prevention of addictions, while at the same time strengthening social responsibility and the adoption of healthy habits.”
